Ganesha painting for art contest Khula Aasmaan

We received this Ganesha painting on a postcard just a day before the Ganesh festival. Hanshal Banawar from Presidency School, Bangalore has sent this painting on a postcard. This is his entry for the art contest by Khula Aasmaan.

Hanshal has used crayons and sketch pens to create this Ganesh painting on a postcard. He sent the postcard neatly in an envelope. As a result, this painting on postcard was protected. It was received in good condition. This painting will be an entry for the current Khula Aasmaan painting contest for the period July to September 2018. This entry will be in the category “Art on Postcard”. In fact, Ganesh festival and other festivals such as Diwali, are popular subjects for children to paint. These festivals are colourful events and so much is happening.

During the Ganesh or Ganapati festival, there is an installation of Ganesha idol in almost every home and in the neighbourhood. Each installation is unique with its own decoration. There are daily rituals which are colourful events. Finally, the festival concludes in the grand procession for immersion of the Ganesh idols. All of these events create a huge opportunity for children to absorb the multitude of inputs and stimuli and create their art.
