International art competition on Ramayana

This project by Khula Aasmaan (खुला आसमान) will involve international art competition on Ramayana. Apart from the painting competition on Ramayana, we will  curate content on Ramayana. Children and young adults are invited to paint characters, incidents and landscapes from the epic Ramayana. Select artworks from this Ramayana art collection will be part of a special edition of pictorial Ramayana e-book apart from other possibilities. Further details of this Ramayana art project will be announced shortly.In the meantime, start thinking about your Ramayana paintings. We are happy to announce this project today on 5th August 2020 when the Ram temple bhoomi pujan ceremony was conducted by the Prime Minister of India at Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya.

Ram Temple Bhoomi Pujan (Ground breaking ceremony) at Ayodhya

Today on 5th August 2020, Shri. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, performed the rituals of bhoomi pujan (ground breaking ceremony) for Ram Temple at Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya. A grand Ram temple will be built for “Ram Lalla”, the infant Ram. On this occasion, a special postage stamp was released. We decided to announce the international art competition Ramayana on this day.

Ramayana has been a fascinating subject for artists for all times. The original document of constitution of India has a beautiful artwork of Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman, returning to Ayodhya after defeating Ravan. This artwork is at the beginning of the chapter related to fundamental rights.

Khula Aasmaan (means – Open Sky) is a platform for creative expression by children (5 to 15 years) and young adults (16 to 25 years). Khula Aasmaan conducts contests and creates content for children, college students, parents and teachers. Khula Aasmaan is free and open 24 x 7.

    1. Last date for submission of entries to Ramayana Art Contest is 31 December 2020.
      After the contest closes, first round of judging will determine the shortlist.
      The shortlisted paintings will need to be submitted for the final round of judging.
