World of Mahatma Gandhi – International Painting Competition
Khula Aasmaan and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) had organised a special international painting competition to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The theme for this international art competition was “World of Mahatma Gandhi”. We are happy to present select paintings from this prestigious painting competition.

The participants to this international painting competition were invited to draw and paint on a wide range of subjects related to the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. They depicted important events in the life of the Mahatma. Through their art, they also featured Mahatma’s vision, philosophy and ideas on subjects as diverse as rural development, swadeshi, khadi, women empowerment, cleanliness and many other subjects dear to the Mahatma.
