National Painting Competition by Khula Aasmaan & IISER Pune

IISER Pune jointly with Khula Aasmaan organised National Painting Competition to mark 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements. The year 2019 has been proclaimed the “International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements (IYPT2019)” by the United Nations General Assembly and UNESCO. The Periodic Table of Chemical Elements is one of the most significant achievements in science, capturing the essence not only of chemistry, but also of physics, medicine, earth sciences and biology. The painting contest was held in two stages – free online painting contest and an on the spot painting contest at IISER Pune campus. There was a tremendous response and an enthusiastic participation in both free online art competition as well as free on the spot painting competition. The contest themes were designed to bring art and science together.
