Nayaswami Jyotish, a yogi and an artist
Nayaswami Jyotish, worldwide spiritual director of Ananda Sangha, is also an artist at heart. He loves to paint nature, primarily in oil colors. Many of his paintings contain images, which are spiritually meaningful.
Mountains, the abode of ancient yogis, suggest both aspiration and seclusion. The ocean symbolizes infinity, while waves often indicate the ego pulling away from infinity and then merging back into it. The colors in Jyotish’s nature paintings are vivid. They bridge the gap between the material world and the astral or heavenly worlds of heightened senses.
Ananda is based on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, who is often depicted in Jyotish’s paintings as a symbol of enlightened awareness. His paintings often reflect the joy of being one with the divine creations of God, which is being one with nature. Nature being the creation of the God, showers infinite and unadulterated joy upon those who venture out and be one with nature. It is this divine joy that Nayaswami Jyotish brings to his paintings.
Paramahansa Yoganand and his legacy
Nayaswami Jyotish continues on the spiritual path laid down by Paramahansa Yoganand , best known for the best seller “An Autobiography of a Yogi”. Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yoganand, set up Ananda Sangha, which has grown into a worldwide organisation. Nayaswami Jyotish was chosen by Swami Kriyananda to lead Ananda Sangha after him.
