Ramayana art contest now open

Khula Aasmaan (खुला आसमान) is happy announce that Ramayana art contest for children, college students and others of all nationalities. This art project by Khula Aasmaan (खुला आसमान) will feature an international painting competition on Ramayana, in addition to curated content on Ramayana. Select artworks from this Ramayana art collection (size A4, A3 and art on postcard) will be part of a special edition of pictorial Ramayana ebook apart from other possibilities.

Who can participate ?

We invite children (5 to 15 years), college students (16 to 25 years) and others (26 years and above with no upper limit) to participate in this unique international painting competition. This is a free online international art competition, which is open 24 x 7. Use the contest form provided to submit your entry and images of your drawing or painting related to Ramayana.

Contest Theme

The artworks to be submitted for the contest should be  related to Ramayana – characters from Ramayana, incidents from Ramayana, landscapes from Ramayana and any other artwork inspired by Ramayana.

Artwork Size

The artwork size should be one of the following sizes :

A4 ( 8.27 x 11.69 inches or 21 x 29.7 centimeters )

A3 ( 11.69 x 16.53 inches or 29.7 x 42.0 centimeters )

Postcard ( 3.75 x 5.75 inches or 9.52 x 12.7 centimeters)

For A4 or A3 size artworks, submit a good quality image of the artwork along with full details such as artwork title, medium used, size while submitting the entry. Please do not send the original artwork to us. Please preserve the artwork in good condition, as we will need the original artwork, if it gets shortlisted.

For Art on Postcard, use a standard postcard available at any post office . The full blank side should be used for your painting whereas the other side should be used to write your details such as Name, Age, Class in which you study, School/College name, City/Town, State, Country and a note on the artwork being submitted.

The painted postcard should be put in an envelope neatly packed and sent to us by post / speed post or courier as convenient.

Address for sending Art on Postcard : ( Please do not send open postcard, send it in an envelope neatly packed. It will be advisable to wrap the postcard in a plastic sheet and put it in an envelope.)

You are free to use any medium of your choice to create your artwork. You can thus use any of the following mediums for your artwork :

Medals, Certificates, Online Exhibition and ebook of pictorial Ramayana

• After the Ramayana art contest closes on 31 December 2020, we will announce the shortlisted artworks. Each shortlisted artist will be individually informed. We will also announce this shortlist in our blog as well as on our website. All shortlisted artworks will be required to be sent to our office for further round of judging.
• The final round of judging will decide medals, honorable mentions and shortlisted artworks.
• All medal winners, honorable mentions and shortlisted will receive certifcates.
• We will create a special online exhibition of all medal winners, honorable mentions and shortlisted artworks.
• We will publish a special pictorial Ramayana ebook using select artworks from among the shortlisted artworks.
